The Canadian Goose
They send out two scouts in search of good places, to eat, and to raise their flock.
After the scouts return, the rest of the flock arrives.
They choose mates and territories. Geese mate for life.
Of course this does not prevent a young handsome gander from trying to steal an older male gander's mate.
In a few weeks all disputes are settled. Eggs are laid and tended to. Then they raise their young.
All Creatures Bright and Beautiful; an old English folk tune.
