The Canadian Goose

The Canadian Goose

The Canadian geese return north around the middle of March.
A flock of geese.
They send out two scouts in search of good places, to eat, and to raise their flock.
When you see two lone Canadian geese; you can be pretty sure your looking at a scouting party.
After the scouts return, the rest of the flock arrives.
The rest of the flock.
They choose mates and territories. Geese mate for life.
Of course this does not prevent a young handsome gander from trying to steal an older male gander's mate.
A couple.
In a few weeks all disputes are settled. Eggs are laid and tended to. Then they raise their young.
A family picnic.
