The crocus is the first flower to bloom in our yard. We planted then in the lawn during the autumn. It took quite a few years of planting before we got enough crocuses planted to make a decent showing in the spring.
The crocus is the toughest flower. Even when they get snowed on, a crocus will still hold on to its' petals.
The white and yellow crocus are joined by the purple ones.
The primrose are the next flower to bloom. Some years they come up so early that I fret about the possibility of the primroses being suicidal. The primroses have always been right about the change in weather, so I really should not worry about them.
Next come the daffodils, followed by the tulips and the bleeding hearts.
