Fulfilling the Prophecy of Micah Birthplace of God's Son

The prophet Micah lived around 750 and 686 BC.

Micah 5:2-4 (BBE)

And you, Bethlehem Ephrathah, the least among the families of Judah, out of you one will come to me who is to be ruler in Israel; whose going out has been purposed from time past, from the eternal days. For this cause he will give them up till the time when she who is with child has given birth: then the rest of his brothers will come back to the children of Israel. And he will take his place and give food to his flock in the strength of the Lord, in the glory of the name of the Lord his God; and their resting-place will be safe: for now he will be great to the ends of the earth.

And this prophecy was fulfilled!

Luke 2:15-20 (GNB)

When the angels had left them and gone back to heaven, the shepherds said to one another, "Let's go to Bethlehem and see what has taken place that the Lord has told us about." So they went quickly and found Mary and Joseph with the baby, who was lying in the manger.

When they saw this, they repeated what they had been told about this child.

All who heard it were amazed at what the shepherds told them, but Mary continued to treasure in her heart all these things and to ponder them. Then the shepherds returned to their flock, glorifying and praising God for everything they had heard and seen, just as it had been told to them.
