Researching Religious Information:

Step 1:

If nothing else works try a search engine.

The searchable texts are not as advanced as Star Trek's. One or two words typed in the search box work best.

Sometimes you get different results if you use the same word but a different Bible version.

Bible Interpretations is information on Bible versions, some guides on interpreting it and Bible background links.

Interlinear Bible The Interlinear Bible is my favorite on-line tool at Bible Study Tools. Either the King James Version or New American Standard verses are keyed to the Greek and Hebrew text using Strong’s Concordance, so it's easy to read the original and literal Greek or Hebrew text with Strong’s words.
Blue Letter Bible Based on the King James Version. Word or phrase search linked with six Bible dictionaries for any English word. Strong's Number Search Tool searches a Hebrew/Greek Concordance plus a Lexicon, for any Strong's Number.

Free Bible software tools that works similarly to the online Bibles.

Step 2:

Read whatever you can get your hands on. Read as many books on the subject as you can either afford, find at the library or read in the book store about what ever topic you are researching with caution. Ask questions and go back to step 1.

Bible History Online Images and Resources for Biblical History is an awesome site. You could spend hours.

Hyper History contains 2000 files covering 3000 years. To find religious information choose the timeline of interest.

Jewish Encyclopedia The complete contents of the 12-volume Jewish Encyclopedia, which was originally published between 1901-1906. Contains over 15,000 articles and illustrations.

Internet History Sourcebooks Project edited by Paul Halsall and Fordham University are vast collections of public domain and copy-permitted historical texts including Ancient History, Medieval History and Modern History.

Evidence and Paul's Journeys Excerpts from his recently published book "Evidence and Paul's Journeys: An Historical Investigation into the Travels of the Apostle Paul."

Paul and the Pauline Epistles has lots of links on Paul.

Year A Calendar Revised Common Lectionary Study gives an outline of what many churches expect to hear about Sunday morning. This resource is similar to a magazines theme list for the year ahead. Though sometimes religious leaders hold the privilege of deviating from the list.

Bibliography Freeware Free programs and online sources to help document your research. How you do that depends on who you are writing for.

People responded to the words in the Bible reprinted and re-translated in different ways. Some made music, some made art, and some wrote web pages.
