The Speculating Game

A puzzle where you must find and recognize the pieces.

Here are the rules:

  1. Begin with a mystery.
  2. Gather all the known facts pertaining to the mystery.
  3. Fill in the blanks.
  4. The more blanks that you fill in; the higher your score.
  5. The more facts that you fill in; the lower your score.
  6. If you run out of blanks in the mystery it is no longer speculation. The mystery becomes history.

Prophecy is a mystery because it happens sometime in the future. We do not have all the facts until it happens.

Matthew 24:32-35 Mark 13.28-31; Luke 21.29-33 (NIV)

Learn a lesson from a fig tree. When its branches sprout and start putting out leaves, you know that summer is near. So when you see all these things happening, you will know that the time has almost come. I can promise you that some of the people of this generation will still be alive when all this happens. The sky and the earth won't last forever, but my words will.

Luke 24:44 (ISV)

Then He said to them them, "These are My words that I spoke to you while I was still with you, that everything written about Me in the Law of Moses, the Prophets, and the Psalms must be fulfilled."

When mystery becomes history the prophecy has been fulfilled.

Here is a mystery:

Revelation 17:5 (NIV)

Aside from being fun....

It is a measure of time that we humans have to choose between the Kingdom of God and Hell. The more prophecies fulfilled the the less time for humans to choose. Check out the Book of Revelation. I linked to chapter 3 because the first three chapters are mostly letters to John's churches.

Jesus wins at the end of the Book of Revelations. In case you have not read it yet, here is how the story ends.

Revelation 22:3-5 (CEV)

God's curse will no longer be on the people of that city. He and the Lamb will be seated there on their thrones, and its people will worship God and will see him face to face. God's name will be written on the foreheads of the people. Never again will night appear, and no one who lives there will ever need a lamp or the sun. The Lord God will be their light, and they will rule forever.
